I present to you Chapter 4 of Muv-Luv Unlimited.

In this chapter, Shirogane tells a fib and gets away with it... not exactly the kind of role model your parents want you to have. There's a bit of fan service in this chapter, too! :)

This chapter is being released in a few days later than I had hoped. I actually wanted to get this chapter done before Christmas so I can concentrate on completing another (different) project before the New Year. Oh well, at least I'm getting this one in before the New Year!

A big part of the delay: Some parts of the chapter was a bit troublesome to translate for various reasons. You'll see some alternate takes to the end of this chapter as a result of this.

Project Update and Apple Dainty

As you may know, I'm busy this holiday season. So busy that I've been working like a dog at 6 and 7 days a week. Not my ideal holiday situation... in fact, it's about the worst! (I haven't done my shopping yet!) Although I'm actually in the midst of working on a couple of other projects, I did start on the next chapter of Muv-Luv Unlimited. Hopefully, I'll have it done before the end of the month/year. ^_^;;

That aside, I'd like to give an honorable mention to Apple Dainty.

Apple Dainty is a site run by is a ambitious, young college student/artist/web-artist/web-master/craftsman, who happens to be my niece. She's got a new nick, Dainty, and she's got a new website, too. She has long drawn fantasy/manga-style art (sorry fellas, no hentai stuff here) and has already self-published a couple of editions; plus nowadays, she's also into creating hand-made jewelry. Her website hosts her crafts (she has a nice little shop ) and her web-comic. Plus, whenever possible, she hits the manga/anime conventions with her art and wares. Anyhow, please check it out! Muv-Luv Unlimited - Chapter 3

As always at this time of year, I'm a bit busy. But I wanted to make sure I at least get this next chapter of Muv-Luv Unlimited out before the end of this month, so here I am. It's been my goal to do at least one chapter a month if possible.

In this chapter, Shirogane meets a new girl (lucky bastard!), goes into a flashback, gropes Sumika (lucky bastard!), and shows Mitsurugi the joys of portable computer games!

So Sexy Scans

I recently joined yet another (*sigh*) forum. I had to in order to download their scanslations. Nonetheless, it was worth it 'coz they are actually translating a manga I've been interested in.

While doing Google and BakaManga searches, I came upon So Sexy Scans. Despite the name, they apparently don't do hentai stuff. However, they are translating the manga version of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", which is awesome of them to do! So far they've done up to chapter 5 of volume 1 of the manga. I have yet to read all of what they have so far, but at this point, I'll take what they got!

Anyhow, as fan of the show, and since So Sexy Scans is nice enough to have direct download or file share links for the chapters, I thought I'd give 'em a little write up and tell y'all 'bout 'em. I'm already looking for to more chapters!

Although I'm not doing extensive editing (ie. redrawing the SFX), it still took me a bit of time because of the number of pages.

Kamichu, chapter 18

Now that Dynasty Scans has released chapters 18 and 19 of Kamichu some weeks ago, I figured I'd release this one just for fun. I don't intend to torrent this, since I don't think too many of you would care for it. It's pretty much for those who would be curious about my rendition (edit) versus Dynasty's version.

(Besides, the next chapter of Muv-Luv Unlimited is still about 2 weeks away and I wanted to post something in the meantime...)

The version I'm presenting here is my first draft. It includes my notes to Dynasty, as well as different takes (variations) on a few pages. Thanks in advance to those of you who check this one out!

Muv-Luv Unlimited - Chapter 00 & 01

The first chapter of the first volume of Muv-Luv Unlimited. This is my first non-hentai manga series translation and edit. My third non-hentai project.

For those who don't know Muv-Luv, it's originally a hentai game. The game is divided into two parts: The first is Muv-Luv Extra, which is a straight-forward romance game with two alternate endings; the second, after unlocking the two different endings in Extra, is Muv-Luv Unlimited, which takes the player (protagonist) to an alternate world battling aliens (that you don't ever see).

The manga series takes after the game, without the hentai but some of the ecchi, and is also divided into two series: Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited. Because I don't have raws for Extra, I almost considered not translating Unlimited. But after a little debate with myself, I thought, "What the heck."

For those who are not familiar with the game, there is a synopsis of Extra prior to chapter 1 of Unlimited. So I don't think you'll get too lost in what's happening and who the main characters are. If you want to find out more, and since I'm not doing the game or the manga much justice by describing them here, look up Muv-Luv on Wikipedia.

New Projects Lined Up (Yay!)

For months, I've been trying to decide on some non-hentai projects to work on solo. I finally came up with three.


My first project will be Muv-Luv Unlimited by Âge and Tomo Hirokawa. This is a 4-volume sequel or spin-off of Muv-Luv. I'm concurrently working on this along with a couple of hentai projects. I'm so stoked (or prodded? ) to work on this one, that I already cleaned up the book jacket ahead of time! (See image)

I also look forward working on Nocturne by Shinsuke Kurihashi. I only have volume 1, so far; I have to see if I can find or purchase the other volumes from somewhere.

My third project of consideration is Cupid by Taku Kitazaki.

Although these are considered "general comics", all three do contain some nudity. If there were ratings to be given out, Muv-Luv and Nocturne would probably be PG-13; and Cupid would be R, due to mature content.

...But what about Kamichu?!?

After my 2nd draft of Kamichu! failed Dynasty Scans' litmus test (I had the right fonts, but they didn't like my method of resizing it... the heck?!? LOL!), I've actually have become less enthusiastic about working on it. That's not the entire reason. A heavy work schedule and an unexpected visit by relatives also kept me busy last month as well. But tie that in with low enthusiasm, not to mention my solo hentai and non-hentai projects that I have lined up, then of course nothing with Kamichu! will get done. I've dropped in on Dynasty's forum now and then, but never really bothered to check in with them or give them a status update... How terrible of me! So, it's obviously not them, but me. Like I said, low enthusiasm.

In any event, I view this as a good experience! If I work with anybody else (present company excluded), I have a better idea of what things to ask for before applying or accepting. It was my intention to finish Kamichu and bow out of Dynasty's roster, but I think by now they may have a new editor lined up; so... C'est la vie.

In closing, I actually started editing the final chapter of Kamichu, and I already know I'll end up changing the dialog here and there. If and when Dynasty finally releases their version with new editor in tow, I'll probably have a limited release of my version on ABPManga just for fun. I already have editing ideas that I know they would never dream of doing! If anybody out there wants to see Chapter 18 & 19 beforehand, lemme know. "Summer Vacation" by Momoya Show Neko

Finally, a non-hentai project done! Without the fuss! And in time for SUMMER!!

Momoya Show Neko is actually widely known in adult doujin circles. This happens to be her one (at least I think it's the only one) non-hentai story. It's romantic stuff, so if you're looking for wild action, this isn't for you. But if you enjoy great art along with an interesting take on some favorite game/anime characters, I hope you'll enjoy this one!

I'm trying something different here by posting this announcement first. As usual, I'm posting to ABPEA (and this time ABPM as well) first... it's my original hangout after all. Kamichu, chapter 18 - 2nd draft

Well, my first draft of Kamichu, chapter 18, didn't meet with Dynasty's standards: Casusby (and company?) seem to be a stickler for punctuation; not that I blame him, that's just the group's style. Still, attitudes aside, this is a good learning lesson and I look forward to leaving Dynasty Scans with Chapter 19, just to square things off. Hopefully I can have that done by the end of the month, after I tend to some other joint and solo projects. Although Dynasty Scans has projects other than Kamichu that I'd like to work on, those are already fully staffed, apparently.... Oh well!

Kamichu, chapter 18

I just finished editing chapter 18 of Kamichu. My first edit for Dynasty Scans. I ended up making some changes to the translation here and there, so I hope they won't mind. Hopefully everything is kool and kosher and they'll release it soon. In the meantime, here's a sample of Chapter 18's last page.

Dynasty Scans

Recently, I've been inducted as an editor (one of many) for Dynasty Scans. I will be working on the final 2 chapters of "Kamichu!". I'm looking forward to it! I hope you will too!

I offered to join Dynasty Scans (I took their grueling editing test!) to offer what little editing skills I have. My main selfish reason: I wanted to be able to see what other translators' works were like and learn from them. Hopefully, I can do Casusby and the rest of the Dynasty Staff some justice (and not embarrass them as I am doing now!) by putting out a decent edit!

Another Blog

This blog is obviously still in the works. For those who are familiar with my translations/edits of hentai manga, this site is intended to be my base for the non-hentai fare. It's kinda nuts of me to run two sites, but then again, I've always been nuts to begin with...

If I can find it, I'll post my first edit that I did a couple of years back... a cute short entitled "Airplane," I believe... It's been a while... hopefully I still have it somewhere. Until then, there's not going to be much here just yet as I'm currently... or concurently... working on 3 other hentai projects. Besides that, I'm still trying to find a good manga that I feel comfortable tackling.
